The Las Vegas Convention Center, commonly known as LVCC, is one of the most famous venues for trade shows, conventions, meetings and conferences worldwide. With 4.6 million square feet of space, of which 2.5 million square feet is for exhibitions only, the Las Vegas Convention Center is a global meeting spot. Operated and handled by the Las Vegas Convention Center and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), it is one of the world's busiest trade shows and exhibit venues. The LVCC is popular among industry professionals and trade show organizers for its versatility, services and hospitality. The seating capacity at the Las Vegas Convention Center is between 20 to 2,500, which is a lot. With two huge lobbies and registration areas for meetings and conventions, the Convention Center of Las Vegas is massive. These lobbies are commonly called Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall and Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall, and these halls are more than 260,000 square feet. The west and the south halls link the existing exhibit halls with the newly made exhibit and meeting rooms. It also makes the simultaneous set-up and breakdown process easier during multiple events in the exhibit hall. 

The Las Vegas Convention Center is also committed to build on approaches that create an impact on the sustainable practices such as recycling, green purchasing, education and conservative programs. To reduce fuel consumption, the Las Vegas Convention Center Authority also promotes the use of alternative energy sources. Therefore, 90% of its vehicles are powered by electric or propane currently. The LVCC also introduced the Electronic Vehicle Charging Station during the 2014 International CES. The LVCC along with its partner resorts are growing the trend of properties with EV charging stations for visitors at no cost in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Convention Center also provides a wide array of high-quality services that perfectly compliment its convention and meeting facilities. This includes a fully functional kitchen, two restaurants with a seating capacity of over 1,300 with 18 concession stands and a Starbucks cafe. The event services also include a master antenna system, local, cable and closed circuit television. Registration services are operated on a fee basis and badges and badge holders are available on request. Food and beverage services are exclusively provided by Sodexo. There are multiple outlets of the same inside the center and in case you want to opt for on-site catering services, the LVCC also provides a culinary team who will work closely with you in order to customize your menu according to the theme of your event. Additionally, in order to make your exhibition journey seamless, a Convention Services Manager is assigned to every exhibitor in the event holding space in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

History of Las Vegas Convention Center 

Regarding the history of the Las Vegas Convention Center, back in 1950, the city observed the need for a space where conventions and meetings could be scheduled. Initially, the convention Centers was formed to enhance the occupancy rate of the hotels during off-vacation centers when the city receives minimal tourists.

Later, in April 1959, an exhibit hall with a capacity of 6,300 silver-domed rotunda and an adjoining 90,000 sq ft was opened. The Las Vegas Convention Center was originally designed by Adrian Jennings Wilson (1898–1988) of Los Angeles. Besides being famous for trade shows, conventions, meetings, conferences, and events, the LVCC was also used for professional boxing fights in the 1960s.

The Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall Expansion

The LVCC is comprises of North Hall, South Hall, and West Hall, out of which the Las Vegas Convention Center expanded in 2015. The plan was submitted to the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee in 2015, explaining the need for the expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center—West Hall. 

In the following year, a special session of the Nevada Legislature was called in October. The session concluded with an increase in the lodging tax to secure $1.4 billion for the expansion and to renovate the Las Vegas Convention Center. After some more sessions, in February 2015, these plans resulted in the announcement of the acquisition of the Riviera worth $182.5 million. 

Later, the substantial construction of the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall was completed in December 2020. The overall cost for the construction of the West Hall was $1 billion. The expansion resulted in an increase of 1.4 million square feet in the convention hall's space. After the expansion of the Convention Center West Hall Las Vegas, World of Concrete (WOC) was the first Las Vegas Convention Center event to take place in June 2021.
